Seasonal yoga for holistic healing

We are an intricate piece of the macro cosmic puzzle, entwined in the fabric of life. susceptible to the many influences of earth, sea and stars.

One of, if not the core wound of humanity is that of separation. Feeling an inherent disconnect or missing piece of the puzzle that isolates us from the whole causes great imbalance in our lives and collective state of health.

Modern life has swayed us away from living intimately within natural cycles. Moving indoors to the comforts of our convenient lifestyles has caused us to become soft and slip into a way of being that doesn’t celebrate the changing cycles and the gifts of each on offer.

One way I believe we can reweave this disconnect and bring great healing and meaning to life is by integrating an embodied understanding of the elements and changing cycles of life that bring great healing and perspective.

Having practised various types of Yoga over the years, it wasn’t until finding the Oki-do style that I was able to understand the bigger macro cosmic impact of what practising yoga meant. By following the seasons and learning about the healing potential and gifts on offer we access multi-levelled layers of healing not only to ourselves but to the world and everyone around us.

Oki-do weaves together the gems of Chinese medicine Yin/Yang and five element theories. Together with traditional Indian Hatha Yoga as a form of Yoga therapy. Fine-tuning the organ systems and meridians to remedy physical disorders, structural imbalances, pain and disease. Moving through the seasonal asanas that range in difficulty depending on individual constitution you discover weak points that are the basis of imbalance that lead to physical, mental and spiritual restoration.

This form of Yoga empowers your own self-healing ability through conscious breath, movement and a macrobiotic approach to diet and lifestyle that restores and nourishes on all levels.

Life is simple when we really boil it all down. Amongst the seeming chaos and uncertainty that can arise when out of balance, a daily practice that creates a healing space of embodiment that reverberates a sense of calm and inner knowing that fuels the passions of our lives and creation.

 See you on the mat!

Love, Lucille.
